Monaca is a small community approximately 25 miles north of Pittsburgh. The Monaca #4 Volunteer Fire Department services approximately 6,000 people within its jurisdiction. On average, the department can expect to run around 130 calls per year. In addition to Monaca #4, the community of Monaca is also serviced by two other departments. Monaca #4 is stationed on the Monaca heights, also known as "on the hill". In addition to serving its community, Monaca #4 also responds to neighboring communities for such services as R.I.T. and Air Supply. The department is all volunteer with approximately 25 members on its roster.

Monaca fire was dispatched for a fire alarm at Monacatootha apartments. Engine 56 and 56-10 arrived onscene to find no fire. All other responding units were stood down per 56-10.
Center Twp., Aliquippa, and Monaca fire departments were dispatched for a commercial structure fire, smell of electrical burning in the store. 3-10C arrived onscene to find strong smell of electrical burning. Crews from Monaca and Center found the problem to be a light ballast on fire. Fire was extinguished and power shut off to the light. All units were released shortly after by Center command.
Monaca fire was dispatched for a motor vehicle accident with injuries in front of family dollar. Monaca PD arrived onscene and requested traffic control. All units went back into service shortly after.
Monaca fire was dispatched for a fire alarm activation. Station 56 arrived onscene to find no fire and had all units stand down.
Monaca fire was dispatched to Speyer Ave. for a possible structure fire, residence full of smoke. 57-10 arrived onscene to find second division with light smoke. Engine 57 arrived onscene and checked residence for fire with thermal imaging camera, but found nothing. It was believed that the furnace had caused the house to fill with smoke. All units were put back into service per 57-10
Center Twp., Aliquippa, and Monaca were dispatched for a possible structure fire, furnace smoking. Center Twp. arrived onscene to find house full of smoke, Center and Aliquippa vented the residence with positive pressure fan. All units back in service per 3-10A
Monaca fire was dispatched to Charles St. for reports of heavy smoke coming from behind a residence. Engine 57 arrived onscene to find a controlled burn, all units were stood down per 57-14.
Monaca fire was dispatched to Allen Ave. for a refrigerant leak, home owner moved refrigerator, and unit is leaking refrigerant in the residence. Engine 57 arrived onscene and removed the refrigerator from the residence, and then vented with a positive pressure fan. All other units were put back into service per 57-14.
Monaca fire was dispatched for a vehicle on fire in the parking lot of Spring Run. Engine 57 arrived onscene to find a single passanger compartment fire, fire was contained and all units were put back into service per 57-10.
